I am so sorry for leaving this nearly a year

i swear it was't deliberate and i do try to come on every day, i just can't get the link to work most of the time! Anyway, there's a lot of catching up to be done so let's rock n roll!

So recently, little man Jethro celebrated his 12th birthday and joined his new foster home, with Charlie joining him. Their new foster mummy is a nice lady called Fiona. She got Charlie eating corn and talking to the other birdies.

My poor little girl had been laying eggs non stop and no matter what we changed for her, she wouldn't stop and with us all being disabled and sick, she was getting too difficult to care for, i made the difficult decision to give her up. I miss her every day but I know she is doing well with her new mummy.

We found out  that while Charlie was healthy, Jethro had mites and a condition known as bumblefoot. I can't believe we did not pick up on how sick the poor old man was!

we recently took in my sister's elderly budgie, Viktor. He's a gorgeous boy, very loving and sweet and placid like Sonny as  baby. He's disabled (can't tell left from right or up from down, has injuries he's had since he was a baby and is dumb) and very old but we adore him anyway.

Sorry for more lack of posts, I had problems with my computer. With the weather heating up, the babies have had to have birdy bath time. We learned that Charlie likes soaking her feet in cold water in the sink! Sonny has been a sweet boy for us and has been learning to say "never shake a baby Sonny". I was thinking of looking for a story book to read to the "kids", does anyone have a recommendation? Need something short and fun to read to them like Play With Spot.

I'm sorry if I have not posted in a while, I've been really busy.

Charlie has been very helpful lately, she helped her Granny sew a dress and helps me play games every day. She's so placid and sweet, an absolutely joy to have around. Her little feathers are so soft and warm, she's just like a little chick from a farm.

I recently found some photos of Buster and Beyoncé (his first female companion) and decided to post them. Beyoncé was funny how she used to run up dad's leg or crawl in my sister's hair. Beyoncé lived for 3 years before she was put down due to having huge fatty tumors.

I had problems with my camera so I had to take it back and buy something else. Got a new Nikon instead. First, here's some pictures of the kids.

I gave my handsome boy Sonny a mohawk a few days ago, doesn't he look so adorable? He's a real little poser, though he doesn't like my new camera very much. Charlie's a perfect girl for the camera, she loves it.

My beautiful girl loves the camera and loves posing for lots of photos.

Tanjiro has the runs from feeding the baby girl too much, poor boy. He's been very affectionate lately, giving everyone kisses and preening us.

I spent some time with dear little Charlie today when I came home from furniture shopping. What a good girl she was, she sat on my shoulder and watched me drink my coffee and emailed my friends. She seems very intelligent and curious, she looks at me and listens when I speak to her and imitates the washing machine noises. She has figured out how to get on my finger though it takes a little coaxing to get her out the cage and she flies off still. She is such a sweet girl and I love her so much.

Sonny and Tanji have been very noisy lately and I suspect we'll be hearing "shut up ya losers!" every morning soon the way I yell at them. Sonny's learning slowly how to preen and give kisses and when Tanjiro sat with me the other night he was playing with my hair like a good boy.

Monday 24 September 2012

Did a photo shoot with each budgie and got some lovely shots of each birdie.  I think Charlie's the most photogenic of the 3, she was very well-behaved for the camera and such a good girl. Charlie is very calm and inquisitive around cameras, which makes her a perfect model. Sonny and Tanjiro either wouldn't look at the camera, ran away or hopped up on the camera. I'll be getting a new one soon, as my Canon was faulty and I got a refund. My new camera is a Nikon D3100, it's cool.

the camera loves you Charlie!

i'm too cool to look at the camera

Sonny lies on his back
I'm sorry if I haven't posted much lately, i keep having problems with my internet. This morning, Sonny helped me make my toast and ate some peanut butter I put on my finger. He's just like a little baby, he's truly his mummy's boy. Currently, I've got Tanji on my shoulder playing Boom Town with me and he's helping me tweet rude jokes. Charlie's been a good girl, sitting on dad's finger, though she still hasn't learned not to bite me when I give her a kiss.
